Next Fall drama at Main St. Playhouse to March 2

Community Wednesday, February 19, 2014

During the next two weekends and for another six performances, the Main Street Players continue to reach its patrons’ hearts with the award winning Geoffrey Nauffts’ drama, Next Fall. Performances are Friday and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., and continue until March 2.

This timely play opened earlier this month just as the news reported that NFL prospect Michael Sam was coming out publicly. In Nauffts’ play, the main character Luke, a young, devoutly Christian man, is out to friends but not his family.

The play focuses on the relationship between Luke and his older, neurotic and atheist partner, Adam, told in flashbacks as Luke lays in a coma after an accident. As his parents and close friends wait at the hospital, the tension mounts as both realities of Luke's life collide. This humorous, honest and thought-provoking play, directed by Robert Coppel, is about relationships, religion and living for today.

Tickets for this show are $25 per person with student and senior discounts. Students must present a valid student I.D. Tickets are available online at www.mainstreetplayers.com and at the door. For more  information, patrons can call 305-558-3737. The Main Street Playhouse is located at 6766 Main Street, Miami Lakes.
