      Meet Bailey! The Proenza family of Miami Lakes -- Mirtha, Michael, Mercy, 11 and Peter, 13 -- adopted the 5-month-old girl from the county shelter. 

     “We fell in love with her and decided to bring her home,” Mirtha Proenza said of the family’s first adventure with raising a dog. 

      Though Bailey is “a wonderful, well-behaved puppy and great with the kids,” she “doesn’t like the pink shoes” that protected her paw pads during the summer, Proenza said.
