Town of Miami Lakes has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States for its comprehensive annual financial report for fiscal year 2013-2014.
The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government, its staff and management.
The Town’s comprehensive annual financial report has been judged to meet the highest standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential user groups to read the report. The Town Council and administration take pride in their continue efforts to increase transparency.
