Miami Lakes councilmembers joined in the grand opening of Dr. D Conservatory of Music with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 2 at the studio located at 5881 N.W. 151 Street. The facility will conduct music classes and small performances.
Using giant scissors, officials joined Jose Ignacio Diaz Gravie, also known as Dr. D., and others to cut the red ribbon. As part of the celebration, both veteran and beginner students performed new tunes for attendees to enjoy.
“Dr. D is a friend of this community, an outstanding educator, and a strong advocate for the musical arts,” said Councilmember Tony Lama. “I was honored to be a part of his grand opening, welcome him to Miami Lakes, and look forward to working with him to further the arts in our community.”
