Women's Breast & Heart Initiative offers free mammograms

     The Miami Lakes nonprofit Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative is offering free mammograms to women who make an appointment for June 23.      Jackson Health System will perform the screenings at the Fresco & Mas parking lot, 1630 W. 49th St. in Hialeah, in the Westland Commons shopping center.      Those without appointments will not be able to get the test.    ...

A salute to Pride Month along Main Street

To celebrate Pride Month and the LBGTQ community, The Graham Companies has installed banners that say “Love Where You Live” along Main Street in Miami Lakes. Main Street is a private byway that is owned by the company. Also, volunteers will staff the 2nd Annual Pride Awareness booth at the Miami Lakes Farmer’s Market on Sat., June 25 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The market is at Main Street and New Barn Road.
