The Town of Miami Lakes and its Education Advisory Board is selling banners to recognize 2021 high school graduates. The banners will hang along Miami Lakes Drive for three months. Loubensky Baine, 19, has won a Patti Grace Smith fellowship which gives him a $2,000 award and an internship with an aerospace firm. Baine graduated from Miami Lakes Educational Center and is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida. Gina Rose Montalto was a 14-year-old girl, one of 17 students and staff who were killed in 2018 during a shooting massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
