The Miami Lakes 8U Avengers, a baseball travel team from the Optimist Club of Miami Lakes, won the 2020 United States Specialty Sports Association Winter Classic Tournament Championship on Jan. 26 at Babcock Park in Hialeah. Hialeah Gardens High School's football coach Greg Magner received coach of the week recognition by the Miami Dolphins. He was awarded a plaque during a game against the Jets on Nov. 3, 2019 at halftime.

The Dolphins celebrate those with long-standing tenure in the community. Magner has been coaching for over 35 years in South Florida, and for the past three years at HGSH.
