A special corner in Miami Lakes
Family and friends of Danny Quesada gathered Feb. 22 as a street sign was dedicated to him at Graham Park in Miami Lakes, where an oak tree was also planted.
Shown above, left to right are Miami Lakes Mayor
Manny Cid; Councilman Carlos Alvarez with daughters Audrey and Victoria Alvarez; Councilman Josh Dieguez; Danny’s mother Mari Quesada, brother Michael Quesada, sister Joanna Rodriguez holding Welsh terrier Riggins;
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr.; Danny’s father Mike Quesada; Vice Mayor Nelson Rodriguez and Councilman Luis Collazo.
Quesada, 18, had cystic fibrosis and died Sept. 25 while awaiting a lung transplant.
For 18 years the Great Strides 5K walk and run has raised funds toward finding a cure for the disease. The next race at Graham Park is on April 18. For more information go to https://fightcf.cff.org.
