Many years ago, Sonia Ferrera, the owner and founder of Southeast Computer Solutions, started decorating her office for Halloween since it coincided with her birthday. The occasion called for decorations, a ghoulish lunch and costume party with the office turned into a haunted house.
Seeing the impact the decor had on her employees, Ferrera decided to decorate the offices for Thanksgiving with a pumpkin patch complete with crows, scarecrows and pilgrims.
Naturally, Ferrera extended her decoration skills to Christmas and turned the offices into a winter wonderland with more and more decorations added from year to year.
Today, at their Miami Lakes location, 15165 N.W. 77 Avenue, Suite 2009, the challenge now is “running out of room.”
“The office is truly spectacular, “ said Ferrera, one of the newest members of the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce.
“Pictures do not do it justice as the panoramic view is key. We have five Christmas trees, polar bears, penguins and much more. Every inch is filled with the Christmas spirit. We have our own version of the Rockefeller trees as it hits our ceiling.
“The office is full of joy and the employees come in everyday and look for something new like a child on Christmas morning,” she added. “We have presents for employees, gifts for their children, and even their pets. The joy and love that we feel is priceless.”
