Financial gift kickstarts town's Sports Hall of Fame

Town hosts Hawaiian Luau for seniors

Hundreds of senior citizens dressed in Hawaiian-inspired floral shirts and dresses attended Miami Lakes annual Senior Luau on June 29 at the Royal Oaks Park Community Center. The event was hosted by the Town of Miami Lakes and its Elderly Affairs Committee. Food was provided by El Pimiento Restaurant and seniors were able to enjoy the music while playing games and winning raffle prizes.

Acosta Tractors gets 154 St. expansion award

At the July 9 Town Council meeting, lawmakers awarded a contract to Acosta Tractors for the long awaited lane expansion of N.W. 154 Street between N.W. 84 and 87 avenues. The project consists of expanding the roadway from two lanes to four lanes, drainage improvements, roadway resurfacing, striping and installation of new lighting.
