Spanish Lake Elementary's administration celebrated their faculty during Teacher Appreciation Week with a barbecue for over 100 teachers, each of whom devote their time and effort to inspire their students. 

 

Local students were named Burger King Scholars from the Burger King McLamore Foundation. South Florida Burger King Scholar Award recipients included Nicholas A. Fernandez, Elizabeth M. Bello, Natalie Balmori, Joseph M. Cabauy, and Janelle Gonzalez, all from the Miami Lakes area. The Burger King McLamore Foundation aims to build brighter futures for students in North America and Puerto Rico.
