County commissioner proposes opening NW 154th Street bridge

Miami Dade County Commission Chair Jose Pepe Diaz has proposed a resolution to the county Transportation, Mobility and Planning Committee to open the Northwest 154th Street bridge in Miami Lakes. The bridge spans Interstate 75 and if opened, would connect the City of Hialeah to the Town of Miami Lakes, along the town's main thoroughfare.  Diaz's district includes Hialeah. Cedar Court named for police officer

     Cedar Court in Miami Lakes was dedicated Jan. 21 to a resident who died from COVID-19.      Miami Beach Police Sgt. Miami Lakes names street for fallen soldier

     A street near Barbara Goleman Senior High School will be named for a fallen soldier who attended the school in Miami Lakes.     Northwest 143rd St. will be co-named for U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Ofren Arrechaga of Hialeah and Clarksville, Tenn.       Arrechaga was a 28-year-old decorated soldier who was killed in action in Kunar Province, Afghanistan in 2011.      ...
