Pace students collect over a ton and a half of food during annual food drive

The Pace High School community continued its annual tradition of collecting food for its annual Tons of Love food drive. Mater Academy’s STEM students recently took home first place in the second annual Miami Heat STEM Challenge Day, which took place at the American Airlines Arena. The students’ winning project was building a robot which can dribble a basketball the most times in one minute. The Lionbots rose to the challenge and out dueled a host of middle schools from Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

On November 9, longtime Miami Lakes resident and Miami native William “Bill” Noble passed away peacefully in the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center in Miami. Bill was a member and past president of the Hialeah/Miami Springs Rotary Club. He attended Miami High, the University of Florida, then joined the US Navy during the Korean War.
